Introduction of the International Business School for Veterinarians

The academic curriculum of veterinary schools, worldwide, has one glaring hole; Business and Leadership Education is not a part of the course work to become a veterinarian. Developing the skills and knowledge to build a successful and profitable veterinary business is difficult without the right tools. This becomes even more important nowadays with private equity introducing new business models in our profession, using skills and knowledge that veterinary professionals are lacking. The International Business School for Veterinarians is our new “golden standard” with a unique MBA program for veterinarians that want to make the difference. This program provides you the right insights, network and tools to become successful in the veterinary world, not only professionally but also personally and economically.

Introduction Joop

In my 30-year career as veterinarian I have learned about the business side of our profession by trial and error. Doing my PhD at later age on the social and economic issues in the veterinary profession taught me that I was not the only one. I found some “brothers in arms” to design and provide business and leadership education for the veterinary profession at various levels all over the world introducing professional teachers from other industries and academia. Participants of our programs indicated they wanted more business education in a curriculum format. We then started our business school activities four years ago in the USA, two years ago in Europe and now we are proud to present our more in depth and intense veterinary MBA program.
